So when she responded poorly to an injection to speed up her delivery, doctors told her there was a change in plans.

Catherine was shocked but having worked in the medical field she understood the risks to mother and baby of not delivering via C-section, so she agreed to the c-section delivery.
A Successful Procedure
The procedure was successful but Catherine was very swollen and had all the symptoms that result from an open abdominal surgery: burning, itching, scarring.
Her whole belly was sore and after learning that doctors will often take your uterus (fallopian tubes and all) out of the c-section incision to examine it she understood why.
They Say Necessity is the Mother of Invention
With her medical and first hand cesarean experience, Catherine couldn’t understand why there wasn’t anything available to alleviate the symptoms of c-section recovery.
She thought there had to be something out there to help moms recover better after c-section but all she could find were mesh panties and abdominal binders that didn’t address the incision symptoms for a post-surgical mother.
Catherine devoted the next 18 months to designing and testing post c-section panties that would be comfortable and, most importantly, would help aid in the c-section recovery process which goes on for about a year.
